Peonies and Blue Pitcher

This painting was inspired by the luscious peonies that bloom for such a short time each summer. Their beauty influenced my painting. I chose the other objects for the still life, making certain that they would contribute to the overall richness of the painting. The fabric in the foreground is a quilt that I made, with its bold yellows and pinks, it was a perfect ground for the flowers.
